How to Store Your Vanilla Pods
The Three Enemies of Vanilla
Light, air and excessive moisture are the main causes of drying out and loss of aroma. The goal is to protect the pod from these three factors.
The Right Method
Store your pods in an airtight container (glass jar, tube), away from light, in a cupboard at room temperature. There is no need to wrap them individually.
Never place your pods in the refrigerator: cold and moisture encourage condensation and then mould.
How Long Do They Keep?
Properly stored, Taha'a pods retain most of their fragrance for over a year. If a pod hardens slightly, rehydrate it for a few hours in a warm liquid before use.
